Seeing as I have watermelon sections in my farm I decided to go looking for some seeds. From everything I read in the MC forums chest are abundant and there should be lots of seeds. This is a lie! My first mineshaft exploration I did weeks ago was fruitless (pun intended) so I set off south this time starting from above ground. I successfully created a cool mushroom shelter and started digging. Shortly I found a ridiculously massive mineshaft network. In two days searching however there were only 2 chests. I killed 12 blue spider spawners and enough blue spiders to amass 4 stacks of string. I also found tons of tracks and ores.

This short paragraph of my journey makes it seem not so bad but I was really getting sick of going to tunnel after tunnel with nothing to show. By nothing I mean I got all this stuff and more before finally getting some seeds:

Luckily pumpkin seeds can be crafted. The 10 or so new cds however…:(

So my farm is pretty much complete. It turned out quite nicely I think and the limited space under the dome forced me not to go too crazy about how big I made everything. Now I need melon and pumpkin seeds but I have to wait until 1.9 where they fix the pumpkin seed spawn in mineshafts. If anyone else finds either let me know thanks. The wheat farm was the thing I went craziest with since it may be my new supply of food.

 

 
Left and Right views of the entire farm from the barn entrance. I have all trees, sugar, cactus, wheat, melon and pumpkin farms. Shrooms will be underground once I figure out a better way to do them.
 

 

 

Oh and the water towers were totally unnecessary but I wanted a fancy decoration throughout.

Notch broke something with endermen and spider textures causing them to go white with the painterly pack. To fix you need mcpatcher or to wiat for the next update.

Since I tend to add lots of pictures to this site I figured why not more?

Animal stuff is horribly broken and these two keep escaping.  Got a good shot of them excited for the sunset though.

Chicken coops are set up but they keep dying if there are more than one chicken in there. 98-349 dumps All the other methods of coops don’t seem to work either.

I finally finished my barn. It ended up being my larger than originally planned but bigger is better.  I put some “hay” in it too.  Later in the evening (well morning since it was 2am) I even caught a cow for it.

This creeper had me trapped inside until I remembered I can shoot through doors.

While I was testing multiple grass types a chunk error caused this neat view of my underground stuffs

 

Now I just need to finish my silo, chicken coop and then create my fields.  I caught a pig twice as well but somehow he always got out.  Guess I shouldn’t have used a skin with wings.
