Painterly Textures

Note: updated to v.3 with changes as described in my comment.

I’ve been looking a lot into a new texture pack. The problem is a lot are full re-skins and I want to keep as close to the original look as possbile with some added flair. After all my research I am recommending the Painterly Texture Pack. The best part about it is it is fully customizable with multiple options for everything. It is also heavily tested and maintained and should always work right. With all the customization options I went ahead and made a set of good textures for everything. Josh even says it runs better now.

This should load all my options in case you want to tweak things. If not click the download button and place the entire zip into the texturepacks folder for Minecraft and then load it from the main screen. Enjoy!

  1. So Hoff and I have noticed the same problems. The Stone and Cobblestone look way too similar. This ruins how we’ve been using cobblestone to mark places to explore later. I’m going to smooth out the normal stone and leave cobblestone how it currently is. I also noticed that in mid to low light iron is hard to distinguish when mining. I will move to a more high contrast iron or back to the peach colored one. I also notice you can no longer look through the wood door so I will be changing that one up too.

Lastly I think I’ll make a goofy set as well when I get free time.
